Mick Wong first picked up a camera at the age of 12 and began a life of searching, exploring, and recording the simple beauty he found around him. It began with the birds in his Australian backyard. But it was backpacking around the world as a young man that hooked him on filmmaking. He loved to explore new things and meet new people. Strangers in the street, mystical landscapes, and unknowns behind closed doors all fed his curiosity for adventure. His films sing the unsung hero and celebrate the simple day to day. This inspiration fuels his award-winning work for clients worldwide including VW, Skoda, Mitsubishi, Vodafone, Medibank, Optus, KPN, Rabobank, MTV, Discovery Channel, and Ikea. Mick also writes, produces, photographs, and directs films. His feature length documentary, Yours Sincerely, Mr Yim, follows a famous photographer during his swan song project. He shot this for Channel News Asia with just a two man team. He is currently in pre-production on an independent feature called DAR, which he wrote after living on the island of Gozo for seven years. He lives in Brighton, UK with his wife and three children.
