David Stoddart is a writer/director from the west coast of Scotland. He began his career with a series of award-winning short films before making dramas and documentaries for Channel 4 and the BBC. His commercial directing career began with a series of successful spots for Ryanair and was swiftly followed by his multi-award-winning "#ViolenceIsViolence" campaign for ManKind, made through the agency Dare. David stepped into the US market with spots for Capri Sun starring John Legend for Leo Burnett, Nexcare starring Jessie Graf (American Ninja Warrior) for Weber Shandwick, and two spots for TGI Friday's and TRG in Texas. David’s extensive and successful background in drama, short subject, and documentary places him at a unique crossroads where he is able to bring a lively sense of immediacy and honesty to his dramatic work, and strong visuals and emotional intimacy to his documentary work. This unique combination is evident in his award-winning work for "#ViolenceIsViolence" and his film "Boys Don't Cry,” the final episode in the 9-part "Men In Progress" series from agency TMW Unlimited for their client Lynx.
